MOODY JUDY Groove Tube

Hand-painted raspberry base that gradually shifts to soft lilac as the Groove Tube warms up, leaving its “toes” a plump pink. Filled with pink liquid and rich purple wax.

I’m delighted to introduce you to the Groove Tube — a lava lamp-inspired lighting sculpture made for wherever you call home. 

Each Groove Tube is cast from an original hand-sculpted form right in my little NYC studio (apartment). I salvage and reuse as many old lava lamps as I can get my hands on, repurposing their original components whenever possible. The dimmer cord is wrapped in fabric sourced from a recycled textile warehouse in Brooklyn, NY and sewn together by me — always prioritizing materials that already exist in the world. 

Groove Tubes have a solid, weighty feel — because personally, I like it when things are heavy.

Light bulb included, of course.

Please note that each Groove Tube is handmade in my NYC studio (apartment). Subtle imperfections may appear — they're an intentional part of the process, small signs that your piece was shaped by human hands, not stamped out by a machine in a distant factory.
